I'm having the same exact issue using the Balance theme.

Yes, please share a link. I'm using the Balance theme, but am having the same issue with images in IE8 on my site.

Both look good. I love the clean style of the Tierney site, so it makes me want to minimize the "READ MORE" button and maybe just make it a gray text link with it and the title centered under the image on the "Work" page. That could make it cleaner, I think.
