MemberHaving problems with a fresh upload of the theme - I renamed the .zip file so I wouldn't lose my changes I've made. Rookie mistake?

MemberHi Brad - sorry for the lag in responses but it's been crazy here lately.
Anyways, the mobile emulators I have used are the ones included with Chrome's browser, I've been using the mobile browser emulator browser extension by Diorama, the Semalt responsive design tool and one other I can't remember the name of and can't find in my browser history.
As far as actual devices, I'm using my Samsung Galaxy S6, an old and laggy Asus Transformer tablet, my wife's Kindle Fire (not sure which build it is) and a friend's iPhone 6.
I'm getting no autoplay button on Android, but I am on iPhone (except in the emulators, where it plays).
Host is BlueHost for the test site and where it will go live.
I did try using the sample you sent me, and when I uploaded and activated that theme it did the same as the one I've been working on. So if it's working on the devices you're looking at, that leads me to believe you're on to something with it being a plugin (I'll have to see what getting rid of W3C cache does).
With all of that said, this thing works and it looks great! I got rid of the poster because I wanted continuity between the mobile version and the desktop version, plus the photo I was using was sooooo huge it was causing page load slag. I think you have a good fix here, Brad! It's just a matter of me implementing. 😛

MemberHi etrnluv!
I went ahead and it works great on desktop. You can see it at http://sproule.bar40media.com/. The poster shows up until the video loads and then goes into autoplay. On my laptop and on my big monitor, it adjusts just like Brad planned it to.
My only problem is on mobile devices. The various mobile emulators show it working, but when I check on actual Apple and Android devices, I get a mixed bag. On actual Apple devices, I get the play button over the poster with no ability to play it. On actual Android, I get the poster with no play button.
I'm messing with it as we speak, so hopefully I'll either figure out how to get it play when the button is hit or to get the play button to disappear from Apple devices!

MemberWell, I guess my fingers are crossed and I can get this to work. Pulling out the credit card now.

MemberHi Brad,
I'm going to run that by my client and see if that's what he's looking for. The best thing you showed in your example is how easy it shrinks to be completely responsive, which works better than what I'm seeing with the plugins.
I do have a couple of questions though - is this something you think a knucklehead like me can actually do through a tutorial? And then what type of format would the video have to be in? The client has given .mov files.
Thanks!

MemberIf a video background could go in that widget area, that'd be perfect! I've tried various background widgets and, from what I could see, none of them had any way to put it into a widget on the homepage. So if there is a way to run a video background in the front page 1 widget, I'd love see what it is. I've learned a lot in the last few months but not enough to figure that one out.

MemberThanks for the quick reply, Victor! Anybody know how well it plays with Digital Pro or Genesis child themes in general?

MemberStill can't figure out what's going on here. Looks like it's only happening on my large monitor, 1920px wide.
Any ideas?

MemberReceived a response from Support yesterday and they made the following recommendation:
.site-inner {
background-color: #fff;
clear: both;
margin: auto 0;
padding: 0% 0px;
max-width: 1280px;
}.single .site-inner {
margin-top: 120px;
}This has helped with the white space between the top and site-inner and intruding into the footer. But now it's shifted left. Any suggestions on what to edit or add? My hunch is I need to add margin-left: 100 px; to .single .site-inner, and that's what looks like it worked in Firebug.
Thoughts?

MemberAlright, so it worked great for the blog, but now it's pushing down that content on the pages and it's intruding into the footer. For the life of me I can't understand why it's not the same for the blog and for pages, unless is has to do with the hero image on the pages?
I'm going to mess with the footer and see if that helps the intrusion, since what's happening is the site-inner is being pushed down. Any thoughts on the difference between the pages and the blog posts and how they're reacting to the difference is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

MemberVictor - you're fabulous! I was looking at that thread this morning thinking it sounded exactly like my problem but couldn't find the area you recommended to tweak. Applied the fix and now it's working as it should. Thank you very much! This has been educational to say the least. 🙂
So, now that the footer is getting intruded upon by site-inner, I would need to add some padding for that as well, correct?
In that thread, you also recommended getting rid of the unused site tag-line. Is that something I should consider here as well?

MemberFor what it's worth, Eva, I was having the same problem. Changed the CSS and it wasn't updating. Came back the next morning, and, as Victor said, the colors were set and when I checked it out they were changed! Had to be the cache!

MemberHi Victor Font!
Thank you for the reply!
I checked the site out in the two tools you linked to. I guess I was hoping they'd give me an indication of what I need to fix, but they definitely show me what the problem is. I'm pretty much a dummy when it comes to design, but will I need to make those adjustments to reflect each possible device screen size?
Thanks again!
January 4, 2017 at 5:49 pm in reply to: Genesis Responsive Slider picture format with excerpt? #198769darciusrex
MemberI'm having a similar problem with two sites using the Genesis Responsive Slider. No problems on the desktop version, however with the mobile versions the slider looks terrible.
The first one is http://www.golddustfarms.com. It's been live for a while and it was just pointed out to me. And the one I'm currently in the process of building is http://sproule.bar40media.com/ and has the exact same problem on mobile. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!

MemberHi Daniel and sgoerger!
Daniel - did this work for you? I'm using the Executive Pro theme and not having any luck getting my logo centered above my navigation in the header. If either of you have any suggestions, I'm all ears, er, eyes!
Thanks!

MemberI give up. Moving on to another theme and marking this resolved.
September 19, 2016 at 5:10 pm in reply to: Enterprise Pro: How To Make Area Around Text Box Clear? #193396darciusrex
MemberThanks for the reply, penguinsuit!
I tried adding that and didn't have any change. I also tried to do it with deleting the color part and just having opacity, and no change.
Perhaps I'm doing it wrong? Here's what I currently have:
.site-inner {
background-color: #f5f5f5;
opacity: 0.7;
border-top: 1px solid #ececec;
clear: both;
padding-top: 40px;Or am I trying to change the wrong area?
April 14, 2014 at 1:54 pm in reply to: Images not filling the full width in the Executive Pro Slider #100266darciusrex
MemberHello!
I figured out how to get my full image to show, but the result is that none of the text or page title can show. Is there a way I can have the best of both worlds - have the text show over the photo at the bottom?
Thanks!
