Thanks Brad, it was a little simpler than that in the end!
for anyone else having the same challenge with Altitude theme->
If you have your front page set to display a static page you will need to go to reading > settings and change your post pages settings from "blog" to ' --Select--' then save your changes - job done. (thanks to Studiopress support)

DannyMMemberThanks for the reply Brad, I do however have the layout settings on the edit page screen set to "content/sidebar" (I've tried the sidebar/content option too just to see if it worked but no joy)

DannyMMemberHi gmb,
I own http://www.thebristolshop.co.uk (shopify store) - and also build websites for others - mainly using Genesis these days (www.doitontheweb.co.uk).
I started out with "woo" this and "clip cart" that, then wordpress ecommerce and a whole host of other things, and ended up with Shopify - its whole purpose is ecommerce and the functionality and ease of use compared with any WordPress option I tried it was a no brainer.
I personally would go with shopify every time.
Good luck!
DannyMMemberHi swarmcatcher,
You could really use any mobile responsive genesis child theme for this.
Just place a custom link in the main navigation which is a "Call Now" button - styled as a button so looks different to the rest of the navigation - and place this as the first link in the menu.
This way whenever someone views the site from a mobile - they see your logo - and then a big button saying "Call Now" - if they click that button from a phone it automatically calls the number you specify.
I'm just across the bridge in Bristol, practically neighbours!
DannyMMemberHi,
You could try the "Genesis Simple Edits" Plugin which allows you to remove the categories and/or tags, but this removes them completely, so even if someone clicks throughout to read the full post it won't show the tags there either (or categories depending on what settings you've set) - so not sure if this would work for your situation as you could just not input any tags to get the same result.
Also for future reference (I am considering this) how would i go about showing a featured image and a page summary instead of the full post.
To change these settings go to Genesis >> Theme Settings and look for the Content Archive box, try some different settings until you find what works for you.

DannyMMemberThank you both guys,
I'd not heard of that plugin before - worked a treat, thank you very much!

DannyMMemberHi Rob,
The link is in my original post above (http://www.atmotion.co.uk/events/event-films/) and I'd removed the background image from the css when it didn't work - I've put it back in now (still not working).
So at the moment I've set the background image in "Appearance >> Background" and in the "Body" css.
Thanks for any help

DannyMMemberOh wow, had no ides that existed and works perfectly,
thank you!
DannyMMemberYea, last time I filled out a support ticket, I was told to ask in the forum, which I did.
If you knew the answer, why didn't you just help from the beginning?
Post count has to do with what exactly?
I used to help people in the old forum whenever I could (yes I had to re-register for this forum, so post count restarted)- I would give them the answer and link to a reference also so they could learn for themselves, as most people did, seams those days are gone.
With your original reply - you pointed out who made the theme, when I was asking about a plugin that had nothing to do with the theme.
I've never been anything other than polite, helpful and thankful in these forums (old and new) and so my previous response was a release of built up frustration at the lack of any sort of help I've received since the change at Studiopress.
My frustration and point I was making still stands of course, however I did not realise Moderators were volunteers so I'll apologise for pointing my frustration in the wrong direction.
Peace 🙂
DannyMMemberWell no actually...
I'm asking a question about a specific plugin which is built by Studiopress, hence why I'm asking in the Studiopress forum -I don't need any help with anything by web savvy - thanks for pointing out who makes it though (you'd think I'd know that since I a purchased it from them).
and you're a Moderator!
I'm a Pro Plus Studiopress member and the support around here really has gone to sh*t since launching this new forum.
DannyMMemberI am still very Much struggling with this if anyone can help?

DannyMMemberHi Vivek,
Thanks I've had a read through those articles and they seem to be along similar lines so a good reference for future.
They do relate to what I am trying to achieve although in this case the main wrap is already full width so everything is inside it.
I really dont understand, the action that I placed in the funtions.php is saying "put the nav after the content_sidebar_wrap - yet it places it inside it, why?
Can anyone from studiopress take a quick look please?
thanks
danny
DannyMMemberHi Anitac,
Thanks for that, Yes it's trapped in the #inner and I don't know why, the hook I added to the functions.php i
<code>/** Reposition the primary navigation */
remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
add_action( 'genesis_after_content_sidebar_wrap', 'genesis_do_nav' );</code>In firebug, when I manually copy it and paste it to after the #inner (<!-- end #inner -->) line it works how it should.
Can anyone point me to an article explaining what I need to do please? I thought placing the action "genesis_after_content_sidebar_wrap" would place it after the #inner rather than inside it, I cant find an article on studiopress explaining it, I've look through the hook references and tried all different hooks with no joy, and emailed studiopress support and was told to ask in the forums.
anitac - is my hook correct but I need to create a div and wrap in the css, if so can you offer any pointers?
Any help/pointers really appreciated
Thank you
Danny
DannyMMemberAnyone? pleeeeeease!!!!
DannyMMemberHi Grimwolf,
I use the minimum theme as well at my personal blog at DannyMadds.com
Everything you have mentioned is fully explained in the "how to" files in your download area, so go to the top of this page - hover over "My Studiopress"
click "Downloads"
You'll see a list of everything you have purchased - find minimum and to the right of it is a "How To" link - click that and it explains everything you have asked step by step 🙂
Hope this helps - I would copy and paste it here for you but not sure how that would be looked upon in these new forums!!!
Warm Wishes

December 3, 2012 at 5:28 am in reply to: Topic for Discussion: StudioPress for personal use or for clients… #2973DannyMMemberHi Guys, great topic.
SoZo hit the nail on the head for my situation, I created a product back in 2008 (Baby's First Calendar), paid a graphic designer to, well, design the site then paid a "coder" to code it, it wasn't cheap.
Shortly after I wanted to start A/B testing button positions and colours and so on and this cost me more money with the coder. So I mentioned on a forum that I wanted to learn HTML & CSS and a chap kindly said he was passing my neck of the woods that weekend and he had a book I could have for free called "Learn CSS & HTML in 24hrs" - true to his word he dropped it off to me - thanks that man.
Like Sozo said I got the bug and realised I enjoyed creating websites more than the little product Idea I had. I stumbled on Studiopress, can't remember how, may have been from Copyblogger - tried it and really like it.
I've since sold that company and now make websites for others as a sideline income on the Genesis framework, I also use it for my 2 personal blogs - absolutely love it, although you do need to know some html & css (maybe a little php) to get the most from it.
