All sorted! With the Gutenberg editor, anchor links are well described within WordPress. Brad's link above was also very useful.
    Thanks,

Many thanks Brad, this is exactly how "blog.hubspot.com" goes through the process, so I must be on the right track.

Many thanks again for your time.

    Hi Brad,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm currently still building out a page document, so don't have a link as such but, I'm essential talking about a horizontal list of headers that link out to the individual headings within the text. I've since come across a blog by blog.hubspot.com on "How to Create a Link to Jump to a Specific Part of a Page" and although I haven't created that yet, I think that's probably the obvious solution and probably what everybody else is already doing.

Thanks again, I'll update this thread when I have success, hopefully this weekend.

Hi Brad, thanks for getting back to me so soon, very much apreciated!
I'm using the Gutenberg block editor.
I'm no gun at all, but from what I've worked out this afternoon, it appears that Gutenberg have rolled out an update which I've acquired through automatic updates and now as you say have the permalink option is in the right hand column.
It used to be on the headline, obtained by simply clicking the headline until fairly recently.

If this is the case then it's simply due to updates with Gutenberg and I'll have to get used to it.

    Thanks again.

    The plugin is called Redirection.

    Solved!

    Internal links now working!
    I've learned:
To sort out all the links prior to publishing, i.e. get it right 1st time, then lock it in.
Always use the full URL, i.e. don’t use slugs for internal links.
Have a super redirect plugin installed to keep things right when and if you do need to change the URL.

    Hi William,
Thanks for the recommendation, cleared the cache ... but no success.

Hi Anita, I have no auto redirects in there. I haven't got Yoast Premium with redirects either. But, I think something did trigger the .htaccess file to be completely blank. So, I changed the name of the file ... went to permalinks and did a resave ... which re-created and populated the .htaccess file. I'm now working through the links again as one set of links is now working but not the other ... . Thanks again for your input ... I'll check the other links now ... before calling it solved.

    Hi Anita,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Ive' gone into setting permalinks and resaved, but hasn't fixed the internal link problem.
    Thanks,

    Hi Anita,
Good to here from you again.
    website cutlooseadventure.com

I also reached out to the forum yesterday afternoon. Problem solved. In the end it was my messy coding. In case anybody has a similar problem. My lesson learned!
If you want to have a piece of text taken out for example the field under: that sits infant of your categories on your front page of your posts, then type
[post_categories before=""] into your genesis simple edits area, but make sure that you have the coding typed exactly as the coding must be precise! If not typed in correct results in all sorts of problems!
    Many thanks again!

    Hi di,
Victors comments above is exactly what you need.
Try that and it'll work for sure....my problem was the sizing of the min width for the widgets but setting to the 31% my problem was solved....thanks again Victor!

    Many thanks Victor,
You have made my day, something so simple as the min-width change to width.
Made the change in my css additional area and looking much better.

    Thanks,
