Thanks andytc and Anita, appreciate the help. Like you, I get it on some articles and not others. I'll try to isolate the problem by turning off plugins individually.
Thanks Anita, I've used Google page Speed, GT Matrix and Pingdom before but the challenge is actually carrying out that technical work in-house. I'll revisit Yoast's latest thinking too.July 22, 2020 at 1:23 am in reply to: News Pro – Change Grid formation of a page on mobile #500243
Thanks for replying Anita - I'll explore the option of a caption on the image blocks again to get the correct alignment.
I think I discounted it before for some reason (possibly that the caption text justified centrally) but something to look into.June 22, 2020 at 10:28 am in reply to: Create an author's box image – without using gravatar #499479
Thanks - I guess I've steered clear of individual WordPress profiles as most of my contributors are one-off writers. I'll take a closer look at Co Authors plugin though.
Thanks for your help Victor, it will take a bit of positioning but I'm sure I can get it to work.
Thanks Victor. You're right, I haven't currently got a background image but keen to address that. I guess I thought I'd work out the desktop version as I believe the theme is responsive and scales down accordingly across devices.
I was after the left-hand side and right-hand side strips of the background image.
With your calculations, on a 1920?—1080 screen, would you say the side panels of the background image would be 780px?February 4, 2019 at 3:10 am in reply to: News Pro Theme – Featured Tabs Widget won't appear #489282
Hi Victor, thanks for your comments. It was a plugin conflict that partly resolved it with some CSS to then finish the job.January 30, 2019 at 9:49 am in reply to: News Pro Theme – Featured Tabs Widget won't appear #489146
Thanks for explaining that Victor. The Featured Tabs plugin is by Studiopress to accompany the News Pro theme so would it be that it's not working because of a clash with one of my plugins?
Can I place the CSS you kindly provided in the 'Additional CSS' theme customiser? If not, I'll explore changing the stylesheet.
