Brad DaltonParticipant
Then we can inspect the CSS and HTML using Firebug.
What theme are you using?
I could test all your header images on my local installation with the exact same theme and work out a solution.
Brad DaltonParticipantAre you using the custom menu in header right widget area?
Can you link to your site please.
Brad DaltonParticipantJanuary 28, 2013 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Eleven40 – How to limit the wide text header to Homepage #15710Brad DaltonParticipantAdd a conditional tag to the code so the widget only displays on the home page
is_home
Brad DaltonParticipantYes. 1st. Try the Header and Footer Scripts” boxes in the Genesis Theme Settings or 2nd. use the genesis Simple Hooks plugin.
Brad DaltonParticipantI'd also change the height in your functions.php
/** Add support for custom header */ add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 1140, 'height' => 100 ) );
Brad DaltonParticipantYou know there's a color style option at Genesis > Theme Settings which is blue. Or you can upload an image to replace the file in your child themes images folder.
You can upload a blue image for the footer to your child themes images folder and replace the default footer image named footer-widgets.
Brad DaltonParticipantThere's a featured post and page widget.
You can see from the default CSS above that there's an area 350px by 115px for a logo. You can upload an image that size or change the values in the code which is pretty easy.
They like to keep the code as efficient as possible which is why there's not as many widgets for everything as some themes provide like Prose.
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantChange the Discussion settings. It is part of WordPress not Genesis.
Before a comment appears. An administrator must always approve the comment
Brad DaltonParticipantYou can also edit this code as well.
/* Image Header - Partial Width ------------------------------------------------------------ */ .header-image #title-area, .header-image #title, .header-image #title a { display: block; float: left; height: 115px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0; text-indent: -9999px; width: 350px; }
Brad DaltonParticipantYou can change the height of your header to match your logo by editing the code in your child themes functions.php and style.css files.
Line 26 functions.php
/** Add support for custom header */ add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 960, 'height' => 115 ) );
Or you can add your logo to a transparent background using a tool like Paint,net or GIMP and make it the same height as your header default is.

Select one of the following: Display post content Display post excerpts
Include the Featured Image?
January 27, 2013 at 6:08 pm in reply to: Banner ad in footer not displaying where it should be #15451Brad DaltonParticipantInstall the Genesis Simple Hooks plugin and paste the HTML code for your banner image into one of the footer hooks.
This location might suit you genesis_before_footer Hook
A link to your site would help please
Brad DaltonParticipantTry this: http://my.studiopress.com/setup/education-theme/
Please clarify the second part of your question
Brad DaltonParticipantInsert the images into a new post draft and copy and paste the HTML into a text widget.
Example:
<a href="http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/color_settings.png"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-69" alt="image alt text" src="http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/color_settings.png" width="128" height="128" /></a>
Another option is to use a plugin which is specifically developed as an image widget http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/image-widget/
Brad DaltonParticipantI've tested the plugin (not mine) on a real import and understand its in Beta but also co developed by Automattic staff.
Here's the tutorial i wrote.
There's also some content about the Core Control plugin on that page but you shouldn't need to install it.
There's also a link on that post about redirecting urls from Blogger to WordPress which i tested and worked fine.
Never suffered any formatting problems.
