Hi Anita, I deactivated the classic editor plugin, cleared SG cache, cleared Sucuri cache, cleared browser history, and now "appearance" shows all items in the "customize" menu so I added ".wp-block-image figcaption {
text-align: center;
}"to the custom css, and now my captions are centered underneath the images, now I would just like to add a background color to the captions ??
I can't say I'm happy with the block editor but I guess I'm gonna have to live with it.
BlogDazParticipantHi Anita, I'm using Metro Pro, Siteground Gogeek hosting, and Sucuri firewall.
My site: https://www.pattayaunlimited.com/
BlogDazParticipantOk got it. That's exactly what I want. Thank you very much Brad.
BlogDazParticipantSorry Brad, so would it be exactly as follows:
add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'your_function', 15 );
function your_function() {if ( ! is_singular( 'post' ) )
return;echo 'My affiliate disclosure and so on etc etc etc, link to my disclosure page";
}
BlogDazParticipantSorry, just looked at that code again, and guess I would include my snippet in there as follows?
add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'your_function', 15 );
function your_function() {if ( ! is_singular( 'post' ) )
return;echo 'My affiliate disclosure ans son etc etc etc, link to my disclosure page";
}
BlogDazParticipantThanks Brad. Do I add that piece of code to functions.php exactly as it is, and then add my affiliate snippet to the simple hooks plugin?
Would I add the code to the bottom of functions.php, or do I have to replace another piece of code?
I'm using Metro Pro by the way.
November 9, 2019 at 10:43 pm in reply to: Genesis theme content boxes – buttons vs Gutenberg #494601BlogDazParticipantThank you once again Anita. Can you give any advice about the white spaces?. I ask mainly because using the classic editor in html mode there are no spaces between paragraphs.
Using block editor, even if you remove the white space in draft, they revert to having the white spaces once published.
Best regards,
DarrenBlogDazParticipantThank you Victor.
BlogDazParticipantHi Anita, I have previously added content boxes and buttons in the Additional custom css box as you say. And I guess as Victor suggested, whatever your comfortable with.
Just wondering though, if any any method is better for load speed and SEO?
I have managed to publish a couple of posts with the block editor by the way. I've notice when use the code editor, or view the code, it looks as follows.......
<!-- wp:heading {"level":3} -->
<h3>Vist Pattaya in the Low Season</h3>
<!-- /wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>The best time to get cheap hotel deals in Pattaya is in the low season, May to November for most hotels, and June to October for a minority.</p>
<!-- /wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>It's also true that if you book well in advance you can get some really cheap deals in the high season, but generally, you'll find the cheapest rates at hotels in every price range during low season.</p>
<!-- /wp:paragraph -->IE, the whites spaces between paragraphs or any other blocks. And when you view the source code of a page it also look as follows.....
<h3>Vist Pattaya in the Low Season</h3>
<p>The best time to get cheap hotel deals in Pattaya is in the low season, May to November for most hotels, and June to October for a minority.</p>
<p>It’s also true that if you book well in advance you can get some really cheap deals in the high season, but generally, you’ll find the cheapest rates at hotels in every price range during low season.</p>
Again, with the white spaces. Is this normal behavior with the block editor?
Also, there's the additional style sheet, "/wp-includes/css/dist/block-library/style.min.css" is there any way to avoid this?
Thanks Anita.
BlogDazParticipantI'm on Bluehost WordPress hosting, from what I can see they are using varnish cache, and I don't believe I have any control over it.
BlogDazParticipantThanks for the suggestion Brad, might be a bit too technical for me though. I tries simple hooks already, I tried adding it to my template as a php file, as a javascript file, I copied the genesis header php and added to that then placed it in my child theme template. Probably you are right, it is my theme.
BlogDazParticipantThanks once again for the help, but I think I'm going to give up on this one, tried placing the script in the header/footer section but still no joy.
BlogDazParticipantThanks for pointing me in the right direction coralseait, but so many action hooks, which one, and what to do with it ?
