Have you found an answer?
I am looking at the same problem.BettinaMemberHow does one translate a theme? I ran into this issue now with the no-sidebar theme, also no translation (German) available. I installed the plugin but doesn't do anything.
BettinaMemberHi Davinder,
Thanks for the quick reply and suggestions!I'm not sure what you mean with big social buttons .. they are normal on my side.
You see, "optimise your database" is Greek to me, so have no clue how to do that. Same for "install test wordpress in a folder". Which is why I know I might have to give this to a developer.I am a bit reluctant to switch off all plugins etc as that will render the site useless, I know this is always the first option. I have now tested another browser though and like you it loaded just fine. So maybe it's just the cache here but I just cleared that all out completely the other day.
Hmmm ok, I'll do some more testing to find a common reason for not loading if there is.
BettinaMemberHi again Brad,
really appreciate you coming back and trying to help. I did us the plugins but it didn't work. I have now in the meantime talked some more with support and we solved the puzzle by updating to the latest Genesis and WP, each was an iteration below and seemed to have been the problem.
It's always the simple things that cause big issues 😉
But this is why I love Studiopress, the support is unsurpassed! Glad I'm a client for life 🙂
BettinaMemberThanks Brad, much appreciate. Alas those solutions don't help and I don't understand the coding enough to know what to do. I did use Bill's solution which looks similar if not the same but that didn't help.
This can't possibly be so difficult? Support says they can't help as it's customisation, but surely a theme like that for the front page you should be able to fairly easily say what category shows up and which not? Sigh, that's a useless rant I know. Sorry 🙁
Just really frustrated with this.
BettinaMemberHi Bill,
thank you SO much! Problem solved.
I do always add comments before I do anything so that's not the problem. But I now realise I looked in the wrong functions.php .... anyway, found it, changed it and done.
Now I just need that exclude going again though. Will see if I can get help from that author. It was recommended by Nick himself so surely this should work.
Thanks again, really appreciate it.
BettinaMemberOk so I made a change in the functions.php as per a github (this one, the first one) on this site and now it's broken 🙁
Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://brooksideadmin.co.za/wp/wp-admin/theme-editor.php?file=functions.php&theme=balance&scrollto=1620&updated=true. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.

Help!
I have ftp access, tried to find it in the functions.php but don't. Well not true, did find a functions.php but it doesn't contain that code bit that I added (how's that possible?). Tried to find that file in that error message but wouldn't know what to do with it.
Tried restore backup from managewp but that won't work either. I'm unfortunately not experienced enough to go further on my own. Please anyone who can guide me through getting this back properly again?
I'm sure I could just go in an change some or other file via ftp but I don't know which. Sigh. I'm off to bed now (late night here...) so if I don't reply immediately that's why. Please, please someone help me.
