@Harley130, you can find CSS errors easily using Firebug for Firefox, or the Developer Tools for Chrome. super handy!
asterbirdMemberHi, is your homepage an actual WP Page or latest posts (Look in Settings > Reading I think)? looks like it's an actual page, and the white space is the content padding. Try:
.home .full-width-content.outreach #content { padding: 0; }
asterbirdMemberno problem 🙂 you can mark this thread as resolved
asterbirdMemberoops, try this:
@media only screen and (max-width: 1200px) { .sidebar-content-sidebar #content-sidebar-wrap { width: 75%; } }
asterbirdMember@everlind, are you comfortable editing style.css? Try this:
In line 420, under
.site-container
change margin to:
margin: 3.2rem auto 0;
or if you want a hairline distinction,margin: 3.2rem auto 1px;
AND, in line 1512, under
.footer-widgets
change margin to:
margin: 0 auto 3.2rem;
asterbirdMemberI think so. Looks like there is a class
current-menu-ancestor
orcurrent-menu-parent
that you could use. Try:.genesis-nav-menu .current-menu-ancestor, .genesis-nav-menu .current-menu-parent { background: #4BE0D4; }
You wouldn't have to get rid of the submenu's color. But if you do, try:
.executive-pro-teal .genesis-nav-menu .current-menu-item > a { background: #fff; color: #666; }
asterbirdMemberlooks like the difference is a pound sign. To have a color show up, you have to have a
#
just before it:Correct:
#header { background: #444; }
Incorrect:
#header { background: 444; }
asterbirdMemberwhat about
#wrap { text-align: center; }
If that doesn't work, can you add a link to your page when you reply?

After line 1307, try:
.home-top .widget:nth-of-type(3n+1) { width: 66.6%; }
Oh, and make sure you only have 2 featured pages in the Home Top widget area.
January 27, 2014 at 4:33 pm in reply to: Adjusting Sixteen Nine's layout options with media queries #87312asterbirdMember@clangille, can you please set this to resolved, if you've fixed your issue? Thanks 🙂
asterbirdMemberlooks like the space on top, left, and right of your header image is coming from line 424 in your style.css. Try tweaking that.
.site-container { padding: 0; }
asterbirdMemberOh, right. The footer-widgets are above the footer, so you'd actually want
.site-footer {}
or.footer {}
then.Can you give me a link to look at?
Thanks,
asterbirdMemberHi @sjogborn, are you comfortable going into your style.css file and making changes?
1) If you want to center everything, including title, photo, and meta, here's a good place to start - add
text-align: center;
to the entry class in line 1596 in your stylesheet. You'd end up with this:.entry { background: #fff; margin-bottom: 2rem; padding: 0 0 2.2rem; text-align: center; }
2a) Background color is line 1418 in your style.css. Try:
.genesis-nav-menu { color: red; }
2b) Text color of navigation is line 1442 in your style.css. Try:
.genesis-nav-menu a { color: blue; }
Hope that helps! Cheers,
asterbirdMember1. Okay, yes, then you're right on.
2. Thanks for the link. Looks like you're using the blue or green theme, the color is coming from style.css line 1507.
Add the following somewhere after line 1507:
.eleven40-pro-blue .genesis-nav-menu a { border: none; color: #c7da76; } .eleven40-pro-blue .site-title a, .eleven40-pro-blue .site-title a:hover { color: #474a51; text-decoration: none; }
asterbirdMembertry this:
/ * Executive Pro Red --------------------------------------------- * / .executive-per-red a, .executive-per-red entry-title a:hover, .executive-per-red footer-widgets entry-title a:hover { color: #666; } .footer-widgets a { color: #CC9900; }
asterbirdMemberNo, first line I suggested
.genesis-nav-menu a {}
changes the color of the nav menu text color. For the entire header (the black bar with title and menu), use.site-header { background: #c7da76; }
. Not sure what you want?For the second line, can you add it to your css, then show me a link to the page?
Glad the 3rd works for you!
asterbirdMember@abyghale, looks like you added the text @genwrock suggested in your style.css file at line 1048.
Then you have this declared after that in line 1050:
.listing-city-state-zip { display: block; ...
which is essentially canceling your new code out. So take out that
display:block
and you should be fine.asterbirdMemberHeader menu font color:
.genesis-nav-menu a {}
Header site name:.site-title a, .site-title a:hover {}
Subscribe button:button, input[type="button"], input[type="reset"], input[type="submit"] {}
asterbirdMemberYou'd have to customize the plugin via FTP. Is Location a taxonomy? To change featured listings, go to plugins/agentpress-listings/includes/class-featured-listings-widget.php, and near line 35, add something like:
... $query_args = array( 'post_type' => 'listing', 'location' => 'seattle' 'location' => 'philadephia', ...
