    Hello,

My site is http://www.entertainmentravel.com.  I have a post on my site with the first image in the post as a YouTube clip.  The post itself is fine.  I am using the Genesis Featured Post widget, that shows the first 150 words of content.  But as you can see from the link below, its showing the YouTube coding as part of the content tease underneath the photo that's being picked up directly from the post.

    http://www.entertainmentravel.com/entertainment-2/

It's the first post just under the FILM/TV heading beneath the slider.  Is there a way to make the YouTube coding invisible, but still allow for my placement of the YouTube video in the post, so that it doesn't appear in the comments section?

    Thanks,

    Michael

Hi Michael, did you use the URL by itself to produce the Youtube video or did you apply the Embed code?

    Hi Anitac,

I used the URL.  Should I have used the Embed code?  If so, I've never done that before and not sure how to do it.

    Michael,

Go to the video you want on Youtube. Look for share and then you'll see the Embed code as an option. I'd say - click the size and go Custom and place 600 in the width. The height will auto adjust. Copy the Embed code. Go over to your post - click the HTML or Text tab (next to Visual). Paste the Embed code where you would like it and Save.

Embed codes must be applied in HTML or Text Mode. I think if you add the code to the top of your posts, that it will not be included in the beginning text when using the Featured Post Widget.

    Hi Anitac,

Your solution worked great.  Thank you.  If only I could figure out how to get rid of some of those YouTube ads that appear at the beginning.  I saw where it allows you to pick a starting point, but they also embedded some video right over the first few seconds of the video.

Thank you again...You are a valuable resource and I really appreciate all of the things you're teaching me.  I'm sure I'll be calling on you again.

Yes, those ads are annoying. Believe me.. I've tried to find a way to block them! Glad I could help.
