I've used genesis and enterprise child theme for several years now, and many are starting to no longer work with the WP-Cycle plugin that was originally recommended for the home page slider. WP-Cycle has no support or updates for years. Can anyone recommend a replacement plugin that works like WP-Cycle with a simple plugin that automatically puts the code into the correct spot on my home page. I don't want to have to hack the functions.php as that causes other breaks down the road. A recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Genesis Responsive Slider or Soliloquy depending on what you need.

I second Brad's recommendation. If you want to spend a few dollars and work through a bigger learning curve, you can do some pretty amazing things with the Revolution Slider.

How do I change from WP-cycle to Genesis Responsive Slider in the Crystal Child Theme?

I tried to put Genesis Responsive Slider into the correct widget-box but the WP-cycle still remains there. How to remove the default WP-cycle slider?

@sasser: wp-cycle is hard coded in home.php and displays if the plugin is enabled. Either disable the the plugin or edit home.php to remove the wp-cycle code.

That worked. Thanks! I erased WP-cycle and added Responsive Slider into the Home right box in the Widgets settings.
