I'm unable to get into WordPress and keep getting an error message.

It prompts me to change my password, which I do. When I click on the link to change the password and enter my login and new password, I get this error message telling me there's on error on my website:

"There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

Learn more about debugging in WordPress." -- This links to a WordPress novella I don't understand: https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

I also never get anything in my inbox, so I don't know what these "instructions" are about.

You most likely have a plugin conflict, unless you've added custom code to the child theme you're using. Access the site via FTP, enable debugging in wp-config.php and see what shows up in the debug log.

You can also rename the plugin directory to disable all plugins at once. You should be able to load the site again. If the site loads, rename the plugin directory to its original name and disable all the plugins through the admin area, then enable them one-by-one until the error occurs again.

Also, there may be indications in the php error logs accessible through FTP that may provide insight into the problem.

@sjl Over the past two days, I've seen this same issue through tickets on my own site and doing support work. Would you be able to reach out to me on my website? I'd like to see if there are any common denominators with this issue.
