Hi everyone, I'm currently interested in the switching my site to the genesis framework, my site offers online training services and is currently based on the twenty twelve theme. My only concern is that the child theme I'm interested in will slow down my site. I don't need any of the sliders or plugins all I want is a clean simply website and I'm worried that the child themes here would be a overkill for my site. Any recommendations or someone who have experience with the education pro theme?

    Sincerely,

    Brooke

I don't think you should have a fear of your site slowing down because of the adding Genesis and a child theme. It may but it will be minimal, at least in my experience. Your web host and the number of plugins you have installed may have more to do with speed than the child theme. The only one I can think of that others have commented on being slow to slow are the ones with the large image backgrounds like Metro Pro.

    Good luck.
