A website I'm working on was working fine last couple of weeks, in test and filling stage. Today the whole structure seemed to be gone. My client called that the website was messed up even though I haven't changed anything in the past couple of weeks.

The navigation was gone and all the posts and pages showed up on the front page as a long list of everything. After reloading the page everything was fine again.

What could this be and is there a risk of it happening again?

Sometimes style.css file does not load in the back-end which breaks the whole layout. This can happen due to variety of reasons including slow server response. If website does not have lot of dynamic content, then start using cache plugin like WP super cache.

    Okay, thanks, I'll try that.
