    I am using genesis child theme and have moved some things around like nav above header. what I want to do now is move site-inner over the header which has the wooded like image. the site-inner needs to display over the header and show a little of the header image at the top of the site-inner.

    Any Ideas on the best way to do this?

    Thanks

    Not sure if it'll achieve what you're intending, but the easiest way to achieve exactly what you're asking for is to add a negative margin to the site-inner class.

    Add margin-top: -140px underneath your custom padding-top.

    It'll look like:

    .site-inner {
    	padding-top: 80px;
    	padding-top: 8rem;
    	margin-top: -140px;
    }

    If you want the white background to hover even more over the brick background, you'll need to reduce the height of the padding top.

    I tried:
    padding-top: 80px;
    padding-top: 8rem;
    margin-top: -140px;

    for site-inner, but the header image shows over the site-inner. Anyone have a fix for this problem.

    Thank You,

    Renee

    This is how it looks for me.

    Do you mean the logo, rather than the 'header image'?
