Hi--
I hope someone has done this before....
I wanted to verify my website with Pinterest. They gave me the following directions, but when i get to the part where you go to WordPress, Available Tools, there is nothing in there that looks like what they sat should be there.
I have the Prose theme.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
PaulaPinterest Site Verification
Log in at http://pinterest.com/ with your Pinterest account.
http://www.doglegbipolarjourney.com
Hover over your name in the top-right and click Settings
Scroll down and enter your Website address if you haven’t already.
Click the Verify Website button
On the next page, click the link at the bottom to Verify with a meta tag
You will be shown an example meta tag. You need to copy the value from your sample tag and enter it on WordPress.com. Copy the content part of the tag, shown below in bold:
<meta name="p:domain_verify" content="c695382f781c1c45b0f3363765fce3bf" />
Leave the verification page open and go to your blog dashboard (in a new tab/window).
Open the Tools –> Available Tools Page and paste the content value in the Pinterest Site Verification field under the Website Verification Services header.
Click on Save Changes.
Go back to the verification page and click the link next to step 2 “Click here to complete the process”.September 7, 2013 at 3:37 pm #61257RobinMemberYou probably want to verify with the HTML file instead since you are not on WordPress.com. HTH

September 7, 2013 at 4:13 pm #61271dogleg.comMemberThanks, Robin. I thought this way looked easier, since I don't understand what to do with the html. Can you explain that briefly? I never do any of those things that require me to put in html because I don't understand where to put it.
If you could help, I'd appreciate it, unless the answer is too long.
Thanks again

As I recall, Pinterest will give you an HTML file to download and ask you to upload it to the root folder of your site (FTP). Then when you click the button to verify, Pinterest will look for that file, see it, and you're done. Not sure if that's the exact process but if it isn't, it's pretty close. HTH

If you follow their instructions (what you posted above) and grab the meta name line (it will look like this only with your own verification number: <meta name=”p:domain_verify” content=”c695382f781c1c45b0f3363765fce3bf” />), you can then go to Genesis > Theme Settings > Header and Footer Scripts and paste the meta name code into the wp_(head) section.
September 8, 2013 at 12:32 pm #61376dogleg.comMemberThanks for replying, Robin and Susan--
I do have FTP access, and I will try that; and Susan, I know I've seen that Header and Footer Scripts place (LOL) but I never did anything with it myself. Will try that too.
Thanks again
