    Hi all,

Although I'm using a specific theme, I think this maybe a general issue for developers using MAMP and the newer Mai themes.
I have been able to use MAMP and locally develop sites on the older Mai lifestyle themes (e.g. lifestyle pro 1.2) but the newer themes do not load in MAMP for me.
After loading Genesis into MAMP (works fine) then uploading and activating the Mai Prosper theme, the process times out and WP crashes and I have to re-install.
After turning on debugging i found it was trying to run the Mai setup wizard and timed out. I tried updating the .htaccess file with longer processing time but same issue.
I have not had this issue with any other theme on MAMP.

    Any suggestions?

The original Mai Lifestyle is running on the first version of the Mail Theme Engine. I believe Mai Prosper is running on Mai Theme Engine 2.0. Have you reached out directly to BizBudding support about that issue.

Hey Kevin, it's Mike from BizBudding/Mai Theme here.

We have a bunch of devs using Mai Theme with MAMP without issues, but I don't personally use it so I can't even guess at what the issue could be.

I'd think the easiest thing to do is manually install Mai Engine plugin before activating Mai Theme. Then it'd already be there and ready to go. If there is an update, it should (hopefully) update as normal.

Ping is via support and I can get you a copy of the plugin if you need.

    Hi Anita and Mike,

    Many thanks for the replies.
Mike - I found the plug on github (I think) - version 1.11.9. Installed Genesis then the plugin and then the Prosper theme. Got the same theme install error (seems to time out related).

So, I tried installing Genesis then just the Prosper theme on my work machine which is newer. It worked fine and was up and running in minutes (just as it did on the hosting server).

So, appears to be related to my personal machine or environment.
The machine it fails on has 8gb and is on an Intel i3 processor.
The machine it works on is 16gb ram and is on an Intel i7 processor.
    Both are windows 10.

If there is a newer version of the plugin I can contact support and try that unless anyone else has any ideas?

    Many thanks, Kevin

I think you're using the wrong engine/plugin. Yes, contact support and we can get you the latest to try.

    Got the latest Mai engine.
Worked like a charm! Site looks beautiful!
    Thank you Mike.

(ps. I did have to update my .htaccess file to allow larger plugin load:
    php_value upload_max_filesize 128M
    php_value post_max_size 128M
    php_value max_execution_time 300
    php_value max_input_time 300)
