Homepage sections of Genesis child themes like Altitude Pro allow adding widgets (in fact, the sections appear ONLY when they have widgets in them).

I would like to use Visual Composer and VC Massive Addons widgets like testimonial sliders or Google Maps or the like in these sections.

    How can I achieve that?

You could try this add-on: http://codecanyon.net/item/visual-composer-in-sidebars-addon/8558485

Other than that, you'd have to use Visual Composer on a regular page, recreate the Altitude Front page layout and set that page under Settings - Reading - Front page displays as static page.
