Some of the Font-Awesome icons are not showing up in the Kreativ-pro theme I'm using. It seems to be using an older version of Font-Awesome that is built into the site. How can I update that? My site is built but not yet live.
In Front-Page Widget 2 there are 3 fa icons. The first one will not show up.
<i class="fas fa-brain"></i>
When I view Page Source I see this:
<link rel='stylesheet' id='kreativ-font-awesome-css' href='//netdna.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=4.7.0' type='text/css' media='all' />
<link rel='stylesheet' id='font-awesome-css' href='http://126.96.36.199/~beaut550/wp-content/plugins/icon-widget/assets/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=5.0.3' type='text/css' media='all' />
The latest version is 5.7.2.
I contacted Font Awesome and they told me "Ok, it looks like you are running an older version of Font Awesome along with the new version. You only need to run the latest version. You might try that first."
How can I update the font-awesome? Will it fix the issue?http://188.8.131.52/~beaut550/February 19, 2019 at 11:25 am #489618

The theme comes with the free version built-in that works without adding the <head> info.
I have the pro version but can't use it because if I add it, there are 2 versions running.
The built-in version is old and I need to update it.
Font-Awesome tech support told me to "Ok, it looks like you are running an older version of Font Awesome along with the new version. You only need to run the latest version. You might try that first."
How do I do this?February 20, 2019 at 3:21 pm #489645
Kreativ Pro is not a Studio Press product. It is a community marketplace theme. Community marketplace theme developers support their themes directly. As the creators, they will be most familiar with the theme and be able to provide you with the best support. For further assistance, please contact the ThemeSquare support team.

Don't use the Icon Widget.
Use the Custom HTML Widget instead with the font awesome HTML codes.
ex. <i class="fas fa-search" style="color:#ffbe00" ></i>
Use the <head> code
That's the only thing that worked.May 16, 2019 at 10:28 am #491205
I´ve manage to edit "functions.php" to assing a updated fa icons version. The good thing, all new icons are avaiable, with fa code working fine. The bad thing, some menu icons of the kreativ pro theme are broken...
older line: "href='//netdna.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=4.7.0'"
new line: "wp_enqueue_style( 'kreativ-font-awesome', 'https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.8.2/css/all.css', array(), '5.8.2' );"
I´ll try your solution, thanks!
