Hello everybody. I am fairly new here. Tried to give Genesis a try and purchased the Foodie theme but there are too many errors showing up on Internet Explorer. Also the author does not respond to support questions. Is there any CLEAN, basic child theme that you can recommend which is 100% editable should I wish to make changes etc? I would really appreciate some help and advice. I am looking for something simple.
http://stylesociety.co.zaFebruary 24, 2014 at 10:00 am #92138SusanModeratorI have never used it myself, but a lot of new users like Prose, because it is editable in a different way to any other theme.
As far as the "Best" theme - it really depends on what you are looking to do with your site.
If you are looking for something which is blog oriented, Try Eleven40.
If you want something with a widgetized home page, Try MetroPro
If you want a more feminine theme, try any of the Pretty Darn Cute Design themes (Modern Blogger Pro, Jane, Adorable, MomPreneur), but I will admit I'm biased, as I am part of the Pretty Darn Cute Design team, and I provide the theme support.
February 24, 2014 at 10:03 am #92140SusanModeratorI should also add - theme support either at StudioPress or the "Third Party" themes is limited to setting up the theme with the functionality of the demo; anything beyond that is considered outside the realm of "official" support, and that's what the community forums are for (although I will provide theme support beyond set-up as time allows).
Did Shay (designer of the Foodie theme) not reply to support e-mails at all? Are you sure they went through?

I just wanted to check in on this. Looks like you've got Foodie successfully installed on your site and it looks GREAT! I'm concerned about your statement that my team doesn't respond to support questions. On February 11th, Heather, one of my team members, responded to your support ticket 1 hour after you submitted it. Were there additional issues that needed to be addressed? If so, please let us know. We're happy to help!

February 26, 2014 at 2:36 pm #92538stylesocietyMemberThank you for your response Shay,
Yes, I did receive a response on my initial email that was sent when I was setting up my website but no response on any of my other follow up questions sent on the 13th, 17th and 19th of February.
I should highlight that I did not want extra support with customising etc, I understand that this would be an extra cost. All I needed was for the images to show up properly when being viewed on Internet Explorer. It would be great if you could help, as I really like the theme but for some reason I am having issues where the images are overlapping onto the sidebar when viewed on Internet Explorer. The images are also showing up as 100%, and not scaled as per post.
Look forward to a response.
