    Another beginner question, but thanks in advance cause everyone here has been very helpful!

    I have the Showcase Pro theme and need to add a right hand side sidebar to the all pages other than the homepage. Does anyone have a suggestion on which sidebar plugin works best with Genesis?

    I looked at Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin but the last time it was updated was 10 months ago and has only been tested for up to 4.5.7. Has Genesis given up on supporting this plugin?

    Suggestions are appreciated!

    Its a great plugin and probably doesn't need updating.

    Thanks braddalton!

    Just learning WP and Genesis and keep reading that if a plugin is not updated regularly that it could break a child theme or Genesis framework when it pushes out an update.

    Is that not the case for plugin's in general or just these type of plugins?

    Generally not the case for any official SP plugins.

    Generally, they would be updated at the same time as any Genesis changes which effect them and require the plugin to be updated.
