Subsite Setup for Intranet & Subscriber Can't Logout & Can't Change Password

Have a Multisite where the Subsite has been setup to be used as an Intranet.  Locked it down with a Privacy plugin.  Disabled the Dashboard for the user since we just want them to see the Intranet and not the Dashboard menu along the top.  So disabled it in the user profile.

How though are we going to be able to get them to Logout if this Dashboard is hidden?  How does a subscriber log out of the brokers site?  I know an administrator would log out from the dashboard.

Also...when setting up a Subscriber, they never get their notification that they've been setup (the e-mail sent from the Dashboard).  They've checked their Junk e-mail too.  So we've been sending them a user login/password.  So how would a Subscriber change the initial password we sent to them?

1) Subscribers change passwords on the dashboard, but you've disabled that, so they have no way to reach the dashboard to change passwords.

2) The email when a new user is added is sent by the site's server, not the dashboard. Since the user has checked the junk mail folder, you'd have to confirm that a) you network was setup to send the notification and b) your server otherwise can send email successfully.

3) You can have login/logout functionality that has nothing to do with the dashboard, that is, functionality that exists on the front end. Most Genesis sites include a shortcode for login in the footer, and if logged in, that becomes a logout function. It's a matter of getting that functionality to a place that is visible enough to be used.

Okay so there is no way to have an Intranet then... without showing a Dashboard so that they can change their password right?  The Dashboard is sorta distracting though for someone wanting to just view that and change their password say every 30 days.  But okay I suppose that is the only solution.  Really though????

Regarding the e-mail notification it sounds like a server issue!  Okay... will check on that its wh I sorta suspected too.

Okay... I will check on the login/logout footer... you are right I have seen those shortcodes before.  Just a matter of getting them back in place.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

So I added the Shortcode to the bottom of the page for Logout and so that should work like a charm.

But this plugin may do the trick to hide the Dashboard but still give them the capability of changing their password.

You can just determine that you won't allow users to change their passwords on the grounds that they might change them to something insecure. That's not an unreasonable position on a network.
