    Hi,

I've installed the Buddypress plugin, and I'm having issues with how my sidebar is displaying. I'm using both these plugins:

    Sub Pages Widget
    Genesis Simple Sidebars

My primary sidebar includes the sub pages widget, and it displays the children of pages that have a child / parent relationship. This works perfectly for normal pages.

I've also set up Genesis Simple Sidebars because I require a custom sidebar for certain pages. Again, works perfectly on normal pages and posts.

When I load any of the buddypress pages e.g. /members, /groups, it shows all the buddypress pages in the Sub Pages Widget. All these:

    Members
    News
    Groups
    Register
    Activiate

But it also includes all top parent pages from my main navigation, and looks like this:

    Event Image Gallery
    In Remembrance
    Events
    Activity
    Members
    News
    Groups
    Register
    Activiate
About The St. Michael's College Union
    Union Membership
    The Flaming Sword
    Contact Us

Which I don't want. I would like to just see the buddypress pages in this section (above list). Also, it doesn't make sense that it's showing all the top level navigation pages, as the widget is supposed to only show a list of child pages from a section. So, the functionality of the plugin is being altered here.

So, I create a custom sidebar using Genesis Simple Sidebars, but when I go into the buddypress pages e.g. Members, and change from the default sidebar to the custom sidebar, it completely ignores the custom sidebar and displays the default sidebar.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue, or can anyone point me to any resources that deal with this? I've been searching for hours now and haven't found a solution.

    Thanks,

As you posted this a while ago, I hope you were able to get your issue resolved.

If you ever don't get a response here in the forum, you might want to try posting in the Genesis Slack Group.

    Hi Susan,

Unfortunately, I haven't resolved this issue. Is this the group? - https://sridharkatakam.com/how-to-join-genesis-live-chat-in-slack/

    Kind regards,
