I notice the Stretch theme doesn't have a "pro" designation. Is this an HTML5 based theme?

If it isn't designated "PRO", it is not an HTML5 theme.

Are there any plans for it to become PRO, please, and if so what kind of time limit will there be?

That would be something you would have to ask the StudioPress staff (via the support desk).

InAdvertent - did you hear back about your question yet? i.e. whether any plans exist to convert Stretch theme to HTML 5?
