Tagged: Dutchreview, magazine theme, Metro theme., slow site
For quite some months know we've been making progress with DutchReview. A magazine theme made site (my first one, site that is) with news and backgrounds from the Netherlands in English.
However, I'm not quite satisfied with the loading speed right now, and there are also a bunch of connection problems. Since it's my first site, there could be some child-diseases with regards to its structure. Anybody got any clue? Perhaps the pictures are to large? (got that clue from webpagetest.org)
Also not quite happy with the design. Any tips for that? Thinking about changing to the Metro theme in order to clean it up and make it all less busy.
Would really like to know all of your thoughts on this! 🙂
http://dutchreview.comSpeed has a lot to do with the servers you host on.
Managed hosting is faster than shared hosting however large images can be a problem also.
Jetpack includes a feature for this named Proton or you can install plugins like Smashit or use a CDN.
