    Hi,

    I've just been running some speed tests on my website and I'm constantly seeing the favicon is really slow. Here is the Pingdom test http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/eeTj8Z/http://chameleonseo.com/ with a 1.34 sec wait. It's the same every time, although time varies.

    This is the URL that it gives http://chameleonseo.com/favicon.ico?id=0.33149317535571754 although the numbers change each time I test it.

    Is there a way to fix this? So I don't have the > 1 sec increase in my loading time?

    What theme are you currently using? this does not sounds like something related to your theme.

    To speed up the process please post the link to the website in question.

    We recommend using Firebug to view source codes http://getfirebug.com/

    i know nothing about this, but in firefox it gives the following error:

    The image "http://chameleonseo.com/favicon.ico" could not be displayed because it contains errors.

    Maybe you should check how you uploaded it.

    Didn't upload it, it's the default genesis favicon.

    The default Genesis favicon url is always /wp-content/themes/genesis/images/favicon.ico and is not the one in use.

    The Epik favicon url is http://chameleonseo.com/wp-content/themes/epik/images/favicon.ico, and is the one displayed in browser. You would replace this one with your own favicon.ico image.

    http://chameleonseo.com/favicon.ico gives me a 404-Not Found

    Sorry a bit confused now, my source code is

    <link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="http://chameleonseo.com/wp-content/themes/epik/images/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

    Which displays the favicon http://chameleonseo.com/wp-content/themes/epik/images/favicon.ico

    I'm fine keeping this, and it displays good in the browser but why then is Pingdom showing a slow loading time? And shows the URL as /favicon.ico?id=0.43668493162840605

    This this a Pingdom issue? Because it all looks good in the browser and in the source code.

    Thanks for the replies btw guys 🙂
