I`m trying to implement a slider to the news theme, although even after re sizing it several times it is to big both height and width and overflows into the sidebar.
Is there anyway of fixing this?
Thanks

I've been trying to solve this same issue with every theme I try to add a Genesis Slider, for years! I end up giving up on using Genesis Slider and choose a different plugin or get rid of the slider altogether.
But now I really want to use the GENESIS slider (not another slider) on a specific site and I'm running into the same old problem. I just end up frustrated and looking up here, it seems a lot of people have the same problem.
Genesis slider doesn't work out of the box for most of the new (HTML5) themes. I've read dozens of threads today trying to find the solution for the overflowing of the slider images to the right, but noone answers! What I've seen here is conversations going "private", people solving the problem, but not sharing how they did it and like here, people just not answering for weeks, then posting "oh, I guess you've figured it out"!
That's lame!
Why don't you you guys just fix the damn plugin?
What's the purpose of making a plugin available that just won't work for most of you own themes without tampering with it?
I always try to avoid starting new threads or answering others with questions, because I value everybody's time, so I usually spend hours reading other posts trying to find the solutions I'm looking for, but this is just driving me crazy, because all the threads I've read, there's just bullshit responses.
If anybody knows how to fix the image overflow PLEASE, can you post it here?

Are you intending to use the Genesis Slider, or the Genesis Responsive Slider?
I have used the Genesis Responsive Slider on hundreds of sites, across many themes, without issue. The only time I ever recommend another solution is for someone who doesn't want to featured posts or pages, and want to use stand alone images.
What theme are you using? You haven't provided a URL, so I can only speculate on what your issue is. Have you run the regenerate thumbnails plugin once you set the slider's size?
March 29, 2015 at 1:26 pm #146020pressdeamonParticipantI haven't provided an URL because my point is that I have the exact same problem on EVERY theme I try, it's not a specific issue on something I'm working on right now. However, my client doesn't allow me to share any of the URL of his sites on public forums anyway. I've tried Magazine, Lifestyle, News Pro over the years working on multiple sites.
I didn't answer to complain, I answered because I wanted someone to tell me how to fix the overflowing issue, but I was also very frustrated after reading dozens of answers here for the same question and nobody giving a solution.
The overflowing happens in relation to the slider border. The way I fixed it now is just to set the border to 0px so you can't see the overflowing, because you also can't see the border.
I can't believe you guys have never seen it!
Since it has happened on every template I tried to use for the past 2 years, I assume the plugin itself has bad CSS and from the dozens of questions here about the same issue, I assume this is not something that is happening just to me, right now, on this specific website.
My point is, if this is happening to everybody trying to use the plugin, this means the plugin needs some fixing, but nothing has been done for years... I'm just saying.
March 29, 2015 at 1:55 pm #146021SusanModeratorI have never set up a site on Lifestyle before, but I just did on one of my test sites, and without any adjustments, I have no issue with the Genesis Responsive Slider.
if this is happening to everybody trying to use the plugin
My point is that it's not happening to everybody using the plugin.
My second point is that this is a community forum; we don't own the plugin, so aren't in a position to fix it. If you're just venting, that's your right. 🙂 - I'm just trying to help, but without knowing what theme you are using, or what you specific problem is, I can't help.
Like I said, I use this slider every single day (I provide theme support and customizations for one of the third party theme developers, and every single theme that developer creates, it uses the Genesis Responsive Slider.)
