    Hey guys,

I am running a WordPress blog here http://doubtingdave.com/ and I have several authors. I have the Genesis Slider plugin.  However, the area where I put it I want to show recent posts as well as you get on most blog pages. What gives?

Drag in the recent posts or Genesis featured posts widget below the slider widget in the same widget area.

To make a site look like its demo site, follow the instructions given here (in the case of Magazine) :

I think you'll need to purchase the theme if you want support for it which is fair.
