Why has the generation of sitemap.xml not been implemented in Genesis Framework which is very important for indexing the site on google? is not it a pretty serious lack from an SEO point of view?

You need to ask Studio Press why or why not a feature exists in the Genesis Framework. Questions on this forum are answered by community volunteers. ok thanks for the reply. Yes I had to use yoast, but I would have preferred to have a solution all in one without having to resort to using plugins

This can create crawlability and indexation issues for sure. I hope this gets updated soon.

Themes do not generate sitemaps for content because in WordPress your content is completely separate from your theme.

If you switched theme, then your sitemap would go away. That's why it's a plugin.

Also, Google will crawl your RSS feed if you don't have a sitemap.

I got the same question and i add some related information maybe you can help me with.

In Genesis Seo Settings we can check the index status of a single page, and in any particular page we can set if the page gonna be index or not.

But, then i got a "Google XML sitemap generator" plugin website and this plugins "override" the settings or thats my feeling.

Example: I set the /thank-you-age as no index in the "Robots meta settings" (by Genesis).
After, that the page appear in the sitemap generated by the plugin.
    Result, google index the page.

Im not saying is Genesis framework problem, probably its plugins isuue, but i will very happy the day genesis seo settings include the sitemap generator.
