For some reason, WordPress websites seem to attract a lot of nefarious people. In recent months, several of my clients websites are getting inundated with referrals from SPAM sites. This in turn has corrupted many of my Google Analytics reports. I know I can filter out this crap, but doing so for each website I manage is very time-consuming. I'm currently using WordFence to block people who are trying to break into my admin accounts, but I'm not sure if it'll handle this stuff. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hey there,
I was having similar problems and investigating I noticed most of this junk was coming from Russia and the Ukraine.
In particular the city of Samara.
Although I didn't want to completely block those countries, I had no choice.
Take a look at the IQ Block Country plugin if you choose to go that route.
I applied it and it took about a week but eventually the junk stopped.

    Hope this helps.

jbendliner, thanks for your help. I think WordFence gives me the ability to block entire countries. I'm trying to avoid installing too many plugins, so perhaps I'll give that a try first. 🙂
