I really have tried to find someone else on the forums having this problem but no luck. So here it goes.
I want my home page show excerpts instead of full post content.
I am using eleven 40 pro child theme.
I must be missing something basic because it seems like this should be simple.
You can change the settings in the Genesis Grid loop in the home.php file.
So I have to edit code to get the site to show excerpts instead of the entire post on the front page?
Your theme uses a grip loop
You could delete the home.php file and use the standard loop.
Couldn't he just not activate his widget home page, use the blog roll for a home page and then navigate to Genesis – Theme Settings, scroll down to content archives and select to display excerpts.
Or, maybe Rob you're not familiar with how to use your home page widgets? Go to widgets and add "Genesis featured posts" plugin on to your home page widgets and set them to show excerpts - which is how the theme was designed to display the home page if you look at the demo.
