SEO for Tagline?

In Minimum Pro there is a Site Title & Tagline under Settings>General.

If I leave these areas blank, there is still a grey banner where they used to be. What is the best way to remove this?

And am I suffering SEO implications by not having these fields?

Hi Chris. I think it's OK to not have a tagline, but I would leave the site title intact.

To remove the grey banner, go into your theme functions and either delete or comment out lines 121–139.

There are definitely SEO implications for the title. It's the most important piece of information that search engines look at to assess your site. They would also look at the tagline if you have it, but perhaps a tagline is not applicable to all sites. A title, on the other hand – every site has a title, so you should enter it where it's meant to be entered.

Hi,

I've followed the instructions on how to remove the site tagline on minimum pro (comment out lines 121-139 on php), which works - but it shifts the site-container and the site-header so they are not equivalent widths on all pages now.

Any ideas?

Anything would be much appreciated =)
