I'm using the Education Pro template and Revolution Slider in the Home Feature widget area.

The Revolution Slider is being used as a full width video slider - a series of 4 self-hosted videos (mp4) that play in a loop.

The problem is that, when the site is opened, there is a black screen that displays between videos.

Revolution Slider tech support says this is due to caching, and to make sure that all videos are run through an encoder to add all necessary metadata.

Encoding the videos doesn't solve the problem. The slider works fine after the first loop.

I would appreciate any insights, suggestions, or ideas to resolve this issue. Thanks.

(i posted this last night but it got caught in the forum spamtrap because of multiple links - but I'll try again...)

Revolution slider can play from Vimeo or Youtube; play the video from a source that's not your webserver.
Vimeo Pro provides viewing controls for your content. https://vimeo.com/upgrade

    Youtube offers private URLs. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/157177?hl=en

This video is streamed from Vimeo in HD on a Genesis site using an iframe.

    Tom,

Thanks for your reply. The Chris Harmsworth site is attractive and close to what I'd like to do.

What is the total bit rate for the videos shown on chrisharmsworth.com?

I ask because videos with tbr's of 1200 - 3000kbps will play without problem, but pixelation is a issue, especially when the video contain scenes with a lot of movement.

Also, is it possible for the videos on chrisharmsworth.com to play automatically and eliminate the player bar?

I wonder if forcing the viewer to click the "play" button affects how the video is initially cached for viewing.
