    Hi,

I added a full width header in the Swank theme but of course it's not mobile responsive.

Can someone give me some tips on how to achieve this please.

    Thanks.

What I do is just reduce the header for the smaller devices and add that to the appropriate size in the media queries. Then test it with a mobile response tester. I've done several of these and they are all different for each client.

Thanks anitac, that's a little beyond my coding means (for now)!

I've added a custom header and I'm very good at following instructions and I understand that it's different for each site but I can't seem to find anything specific to help me but it could be I'm looking in the wrong place.

You can contact Lindsey of Pretty Darn Cute Designs directly. She offers theme support through her website. She would probably be a better bet to assist you since you are using a third-party theme.

Try Lindsey's tutorial for adding a full width header: https://prettydarncute.com/2013/10/genesis-full-width-header-tutorial/

But, as @anitac pointed out, it will require adding code to your stylesheet...
