When I first setup my website I remember doing something to remove the published date and author date from below my post title. I want to add it back but can't figure out where to do this.

I am using the Beecrafty theme. I re-uploaded the original files (function.php, home.php, etc) but it still isn't showing. I thought that maybe it was something I did on the Genesis files but when I change themes to any of my other themes the date and author are there.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Stefani,

Are there any Genesis plugins installed? I know this is a typical WordPress answer, but try disabling those (if there are any). Otherwise, it sounds like this may be turned of within your theme somewhere.

I don't think it is any of my plugins that are causing this. I remember hard coding this when I took it out. Just can't figure out where.

Are you able to list the files in your theme. This would most likely be in your functions.php file.

    Here are my files:

    functions.php
    gallery.php
    home.php
    style.css

This morning I downloaded the original theme files and uploaded functions.php and home.php but the post title and author is still missing.

Since that didn't work I also tried adding the Simple Edits plugin this morning which allows you to change the post info. I tried adding the post info there and it still doesn't work...

Are you able to post the code in your files on something like GitHub? Unless the code removing the title and author is in a plugin, there has to be something inside a theme file. If you can share the code, someone can take a look.

Hi Stefani80, I am having the exact same problem. I failed to document my changes and now I can't remember what I did to remove the author, date and category. I searched my functions.php, my theme css, all the post php files I could find, my Genesis settings, etc. This doesn't require another plug-in download. We changed something but now can't remember how we changed it.

Stefani80, does any of this sound familiar from Brad Dalton's post "How to Remove Date and Author Name from Posts in Balance Theme?" He's talking about the Genesis-Simple Edits plug-in. Brad is awesome! He's always been such a big help and never makes me feel dumb no matter how many dumb things I do in WordPress.
