Currently the Woo Commerce product archive/shop page is set up to display on a static front page. There is no setting I can see to "not display" the product archive. (The products categories are listed in a sidebar, which needs to display).
    .
I want to remove all the images and category listings under "Fireworks by Category"

I can force the product archive to "not display" by assigning it to a hidden page, but then I'm forced to use widgets on the "home" page which I prefer not to do.

Is there a programmable way to remove the Woo Product Archive/shop display in the functions.php file?

    Thanks for your feedback.

Yes. There are many hooks in WooCommerce which you can use to remove and filter the output http://docs.woothemes.com/document/hooks/
