Hi Genesis specialists,
I dedicated about 6 hours of my life to removing the title of my Showcase Pro installation's blog page. Without any effect 🙁
I have a normal Genesis/Showcase Pro installation where a dedicated page (called hub in my example) is presenting the newest blog posts. My categories are tags, so that category pages are a tag based archive.
However, I wasn't able to remove the page titles from either the blog page nor the tag based archives.
I already tried
remove_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_blog_template_heading' );
remove_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_taxonomy_title_description', 15 );
with absolutely no effect.
Could anybody help me out with this? Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and greetings from Germanyhttps://www.lykeup.de/hub
The blog page in your theme uses this code in the page_blog.php file.
$output .= '<div class="header-content"><h1>' . $title . '</h1></div>';
Remove this and see if that works.
thanks for the fast reply. Glad to see that one of the top devs is by my side 😉
Unfortunately it didn't work. Removed this line and the title is still there.
Any other ideas? 🙁
I've tested a few things more. The h1 tag has a class “archive-title“. This class is not part of the page_blog.php in my child theme.
Instead the title comes from archive.php of the Genesis main theme. Of course it wouldn't be wise to edit this file. Just tested it by removing the line from archive.php and the title disappeared.
My next attempt was to remove it with
remove_action( 'genesis_archive_title_descriptions', 'genesis_do_archive_headings_headline', 10);
Didn't work as well. Any help is appreciated. This title thing is driving me mad.
