    Hi All,

    I am using Agency theme and wish to remove the footer entirely from inside the wrap and replace a custom full width footer outside the wrap. To do this I have the following in my functions file:

    //* Remove the entire footer
    remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_do_footer' );

    //* Reposition the footer outside the wrapper*/
    add_action( 'wp_footer', 'custom_footer' );
    (then the custom footer text here)

    This works great, except that the genesis empty footer tags are still in place inside the wrap. How can I remove them completely?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Try this should remove those for you:

    remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_open', 5 );
    remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_close', 15 );

    Hope this helps

    Ok thanks, I had to add those 2 lines after this one
    remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_do_footer' );

    Can you tell me what the numbers mean?

    Yes no problem,
    The numbers at the end are priorities the lower the number the higher the priority, now that the basic version.

    If you want to read up more on this GaryJ has wrote a great explanation of these and why it was changed slightly for Genesis 2.0
