Remove Author Box

Using the latest version of Genesis/Gallery Pro on WP 4.9.1 and Win 7.

For a user (me) I want to remove the Author Box. When I go to my user profile, under Author Box, the checkbox entitled 'Enable Author Box on this User's Posts?' is checked. I assume that if I uncheck this checkbox then the Author Box will be removed from the bottom of my all of my posts?
However, I cannot uncheck the Author Box and have it remain unchecked. I can uncheck the Author Box checkbox but then when I click the Update MyProfile button the Author Box checkbox is automatically rechecked.

When I add the following CSS to Appearance --> Customize --> Additional CSS
.author-box {
display: none;
}
then the Author Box is gone and stays gone?

Why does the Author Box checkbox not work?????????

Hiding the author box with CSS does not remove it from the page. It only hides it in the browser. Anyone can still view it in the page's source code and even show it again through their browser's inspect tool.

Thank you Victor! Was having trouble with the same thing. I would uncheck the author box for the user, save, but it didn't save it and the box was checked again.
