    Hi
    I have a download page (eBook giveaway) which is created as a page in my studio press theme. It appears in my sitemap, so if anyone viewed it, would be easy to download for free without having to give me their email address.

    Q: How do I remove this one download page from appearing in the auto generated sitemap page?
    Thanks
    Ash.

    Good question.

    You could use a plugin like download manager or easy digital downloads.

    You could also use the Genesis SEO settings to no index and no archive your URL.

    That won't remove it from the sitemap but it will make it impossible to access the download.

    Hi Brad
    Thanks. I tried many of those options but it still sits there clear as day in the sitemap section.

    I'm actually happy for it to appear in the search engines (I know that sounds odd) because it will take quite some time to rank (if ever at all), but just don't want it so obvious in the sitemap section.

    The page is titled 'digital marketing tools free eBook download'. haha. So it looks pretty enticing. My analytics suggest around 1% of all traffic hits the sitemap page, so not a big issue, but one I'd like control over.

    Any other ideas?
    Thanks again for your help.

    The easiest way is to exclude the page using the Genesis Sitemap Output filter. It's built into the framework. Here's an article that explains how to use it. http://victorfont.com/genesis_sitemap_output-filter/.

    To exclude specific page(s), you would add exclude=999 to the query string, where 999 is the id of the archive page. It would look like this:

    $sitemap  =  sprintf( '<%2$s>%1$s</%2$s>', __( 'Pages:', 'genesis' ), $heading );
    $sitemap .=  sprintf( '<ul>%s</ul>', wp_list_pages( 'title_li=&echo=0&exclude=999' ) );
