I am trying to use the "Read More" functionality on the WooCommerce product category pages for my site (Infinity Pro theme).

As it appears the native "read more" functionality is disabled, I am trying to use a plugin to accomplish the same thing. I have experimented with the "Read More Without Refresh" plugin (link) but in this case, the shortcode simply doesn't work.

Does anyone have a suggestion for why the shortcode isn't working? Alternatively, any suggestions that could help me get the "Read More" functionality would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Derekkuns,

    Two possible things happening here...
    1. Read More (<!--more--> quicktag) works with posts,
    2. By default, WordPress strips HTML from category archive descriptions.

Custom code can be added to your theme or you can try a plugin that allows HTML in Archive Intro Text so you can add some html to do what you need, depending on what you're trying to do.

Visiting this woocommerce link may help you to add html (not specifically <!--more-->)

Allow HTML in term (category, tag) descriptions

    Hi Terry,

I appreciate your comment, though I wasn't able to make the HTML work, unfortunately.

I found a code snippet online that enabled shortcodes to work in Archive Intro Text, which I have paired with the Read More Without Refresh plugin.

Here is where I found the code: https://joshuadnelson.com/code/allow-shortcodes-genesis-archive-intro-text/
