    I'm trying to create a home page with an image slider the width of the wrap, with additional content and a right-hand side sidebar beneath it. At the moment when I try adding the right sidebar it either gets hidden underneath the slider image or doesn't appear at all. Any tips on pushing the sidebar below the slider? (I'm using the Genesis slider).

    I'd recommend using a custom template for the front page of your site and adding custom widget areas for all of your content.
    Stewart Chamberlain has a pretty good article on how to do this here:
