    Hi there,

I have the Genesis theme, and there's a problem with my paragraphs.

When I post my blogs to my home page, they lose all their formatting. It looks awful.

    See here:

But when I click the 'read more' button, the formatting magically returns.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Vicky

PS: I am a total newbie to WordPress and I don't know code.

When you display post excerpts on an archive page, WordPress strips all formatting from the text displayed. Brad Dalton has a good article on how to fix this: http://wpsites.net/wordpress-tips/add-back-html-tags-stripped-from-content-limit-excerpts-in-wordpress/

Here's something else you might want to consider:

First, what you have there on the home page doesn't look all that "awful" Yes, it doesn't look great...but it doesn't really look that bad...and really...the purpose of excerpts like this is to just be a brief intro...with emphasis on the word "brief."

If I were working on your site I would go with a much shorter excerpt.

Ah ha, thank you very much. I would never have fathomed any of that in a million years.
    Looking much better now
