    I am using the genesis sample theme as a child theme. When choosing to display a blog post excerpt on the home page, there is no read more link. The only thing that appears is [...] and it isn't a link. You have to click the title to continue reading.

    I want to leave the title as an active link but I want to add "continue reading" to the end of the post excerpt instead of the [...].

    Any assistance is appreciated.

    What happens if you choose the content option rather than excerpts?

    Otherwise, you can use code like this to add a custom read more link to the excerpts.
