    I want to fine tune my main heading, and I can't find any convenient way to do it. The most important tweak is to put the category directly above the headline/title. Categories vary by blog post; one post will be category X, the next one category Z, and so on.

    Plugin? I think there must be a plugin, but I can't find one that does everything I need. I'm looking for suggestions.

    Direct code modification? I would modify the heading PHP if necessary, but I can't seem to find it in the WordPress directory.

    This would require a URL to the site and the theme name you are using?

    Thanks for your reply. I thought the idea was so generic that it didn't need that. The site is at intelopolis.com, and the theme name is eleven40. fyi, The site is visible but, but it's not yet operating as a public site.

    I moved your post to the Eleven40 theme forum. They switched to "theme specific" forums.

    Actually it would be different because some themes have been custom coded where they want that information to display.

    This will move the category from the bottom above the title. I tested on a demo.

    //* Remove the post meta function
    remove_action( 'genesis_after_post_content', 'genesis_post_meta' );
    add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_post_meta', 8 );

    Add it to the bottom of the functions.php file.
