Pinterest-Style Category Pages

Hi All,

I'm new to Genesis, so bear with me.

I'm interested in creating some custom category pages where all my post within a certain category are displaying in a Pinterest-style grid, just showing the featured image, the post tile and maybe a small excerpt.

I know there are child themes (like Pin It) and js like Masonry that do these sorts of displays, but I can't figure out how to isolate that look to just category pages. I still want my main blog template to display like a traditional blog.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

For some more context - I've had some progress at least getting just the category page to work by creating at category.php file.

You can see on http://test.younghouselove.com/category/random that I've sort of got the looked started (very roughly) thanks to this tutorial: http://www.matthodder.com/add-masonry-effect-to-genesis-blog/

But it's not as dynamic as I'd like. I've also looked at these tutorials, but can't figure out how to make any of them apply to just the category.php page - not the whole front page of the site.
