Parallax Pro – thumbnails for "about"?

Hello,

I am brand-new to WordPress/Genesis (just what you all wanted to hear - sorry)! I attempted to figure this out, but I'm stumped. I wanted an "about us" four column area in one of the home section, where you can click on a photo (with text under) and go to an individual's page - not an author page. I tried to do this with four columns as a landing page or post, but it all gets squashed, it's not full width (it's the blog size), which made me think I should use a widget or a shortcode - I was unsuccessful, so I don't think I know what I'm looking for.

I would also like to do this with links to varying galleries (I'm a photographer) - think continuous strip of thumbnails full width of a parallax-pro home section, like a film strip, when clicked that lead to individual galleries.

I'm guessing these are the same things, really - what is it that I'm actually looking for instruction-wise on to do this? A table? Does a widget exist? Pure CSS?

This is what I tried - http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/content-column-classes/ --- which works, but I wasn't sure the most effective way to widen it. Figured out that basically I want in-line content, so that's helped my forum/google searching, but any words of advice are welcomed.

Yeah, never mind. Not sure what I pressed to make it look so messed up the first time, looks fine now.
