Hi,

I have a link near the bottom of a page that points to an
heading farther up the page. The target is defined by an id, like this:

Communication Planning

When I follow the link to this target, the target is covered by the site header. On a notebook, that is. Oddly enough, on an iPhone 5s, it works beautifully.

Can anyone tell me how to structure my links so that the targets are not covered by the header? To replicate this issue, scroll down http://speakbusinesscomm.com/our-services/ to the heading "Website Development," then click on the link "communication planning."

    Thanks.

    Andy

That happens because of the z-index dimension on the menu. Z-index allows the menu to sit above the rest of the content. Think of it as a layer atop the content. The linking works in the current layer and isn't aware of layers in front of it. You could use a plugin like Page Scroll to ID where you can set an offset to account for the header height. https://wordpress.org/plugins/page-scroll-to-id/

Thank you, Victor. I'll give that a try.
