the pages i am doing are loading super slow, so I tried to activate the WP SUPER CACHE plugin to speed up the pages. When Activated I get this message:

"WP Super Cache is disabled. Please go to the plugin admin page to enable caching."

When I then go to the plugin admin page i get this message:

    "Permlink Structure Error

A custom url or permalink structure is required for this plugin to work correctly. Please go to the Permalinks Options Page to configure your permalinks."

When I then go to the permalinks options page I get a list of choices, none of which are a custom url or permalink structure.
    I instead get this:

    "
    Permalink Settings

By default WordPress uses web URLs which have question marks and lots of numbers in them; however, WordPress offers you the ability to create a custom URL structure for your permalinks and archives. This can improve the aesthetics, usability, and forward-compatibility of your links. A number of tags are available, and here are some examples to get you started.
    Common Settings
    Default http://www.pickfishstudios.com/?p=123
    Day and name http://www.pickfishstudios.com/2014/05/15/sample-post/
    Month and name http://www.pickfishstudios.com/2014/05/sample-post/
    Numeric http://www.pickfishstudios.com/archives/123
    Post name http://www.pickfishstudios.com/sample-post/
    Custom Structure http://www.pickfishstudios.com
    Optional

If you like, you may enter custom structures for your category and tag URLs here. For example, using topics as your category base would make your category links like http://example.org/topics/uncategorized/. If you leave these blank the defaults will be used.
    Category base
    Tag base "

What am I missing here? I don't understand.

    Thank you in advance,
    KVancio

In most cases, "post name" is the most appropriate permalink structure. That way your About page will be http://www.pickfishstudios.com/about/, for example. Super Cache is just telling you that you need to pick something other than the WordPress default. Hope that helps!
