I know there is an option to check a box to open a link in a new window, but I'm wondering if it would make more sense to make that the default? When I'm reading threads, and trying to assist people with questions, most of the time when I click the link to their site, it opens their site in the same window. I then have to look at their site, and click the back button to get back to their question.

Maybe it's just personal preference, but I'd prefer to have the new site open in a different window, so I can look at their site, and respond to their question at the same time.

As I said, I know that's an option that is left up to the user...

That makes sense. I just right click the link and open it in a new tab or window.
